How much does AI product photography cost for a small brand?
Real UK prices, side by side: what an AI image costs, what a photoshoot costs, and where each one is the better deal.

AI product images cost from £35 each at our studio, or £495 a month for 15 images and 3 short videos. A UK product photographer charges around £15 to £30 per white-background image, or £425 to £500 for a half-day lifestyle shoot before studio and model costs. AI wins on lifestyle and campaign scenes. For plain white packshots, a photographer can be cheaper.
When a small brand asks us “how much?”, the honest answer is “compared with what?”. A photo of a candle on white and a photo of that candle on a sunlit windowsill in Lisbon are two very different jobs, whichever way you make them. So this guide puts real UK numbers next to each other, ours included, and tells you where AI saves money and where it doesn’t.
AI product photography means creating photorealistic images of a real product with AI image models, starting from a few ordinary photos of it rather than a studio shoot.
What does one AI product image cost?
At Mr & Mrs Digital, one product image in a custom scene starts at £35, and a 5–8 second product video starts at £65. If you need visuals every month, the Starter plan is £495 for 15 images and 3 short videos. Every price includes unlimited revisions, full commercial use and every size your shop and social channels need.
Here is the full menu of single orders, so you can see where the £35 sits:
- Product image, custom scene: from £35
- Product video, 5–8 seconds: from £65
- AI UGC video (a creator-style clip with an AI presenter): from £95
- Campaign set: from £350
The monthly plans are £495 (Starter), £995 (Growth, with 30 images, 8 videos and a campaign concept each month) and from £1,950 (Signature, for brands that want an outsourced visual team). The full price list has the details.
What does a traditional product photoshoot cost in the UK?
For simple white-background shots, UK product photographers typically charge £15 to £30 per image. Lifestyle shoots are usually priced by time: around £425 to £500 for a half day and £845 to £995 for a full day. Studio hire, props, styling and a model come on top of that, and they add up quickly.
Those figures come from Airtasker’s UK cost guide, which is based on real jobs posted by customers.1 Other sources land in the same area. YunoJuno, a platform that books freelancers for brands and agencies, puts the average photographer day rate at £475.2 Experienced commercial photographers tend to charge £600 to £900 a day, with high-end and agency work reaching £1,000 to £2,500 or more.3
Then come the extras. A West London photo studio averages £75 an hour to hire.4 Models are booked at a day rate agreed with their agency, and if you want to use the photos in adverts, the British Fashion Model Agents Association’s standard terms say the usage fee is agreed separately and shouldn’t be lower than the model’s day rate.5 In other words, a model can cost you twice.
| What you pay for | Typical price |

When is a traditional photographer the cheaper option?
If you need clean packshots of a large range on a white background, a photographer working through 20 to 40 products a day will often beat our per-image price. A real shoot also makes sense when texture is the whole selling point, like a hand-knitted jumper, or when you simply enjoy being on set with your team.
We would rather tell you this now than have you find out later. White-background work is a production line, and good photographers are very efficient at it.3 If that is all you need, book a local photographer, or try a lightbox and your phone first.
AI earns its keep where a photoshoot gets expensive: places, people and moods.
Where does AI save a small brand the most money?
The savings show up in lifestyle and campaign images. A half-day shoot with an average West London studio costs about £725 before you add a model, props or a stylist: £425 for the photographer and four hours of studio hire at £75. An AI campaign set from us starts at £350, and your product never leaves your shelf.
The bigger saving is often flexibility. With a photoshoot, every new colourway, season or sale means booking again. With AI, the same product can go from a Christmas table to a summer beach without anyone packing a box. A few things you don’t pay for:
- posting samples to a studio, and the risk of them coming back damaged
- travel, location fees and the weather
- a reshoot because the light was wrong on the day
What is included in the price?
Every price on our list includes unlimited revisions, full commercial use and every size you need for your shop, Instagram and TikTok. You do not post us anything: a few clear phone photos of your product are enough. Most single orders are ready within a few days, and every image is yours to use.
Before anything leaves the studio, we check each image against your photos. AI image models can quietly change a label or a logo, so we look closely at lettering, reflections and hands, and fix anything that has drifted.
Should I choose a monthly plan or single orders?
Order single images if you are testing a new product or need one hero image for a launch. A monthly plan pays off once you post product content every week. Starter covers 15 images and 3 videos for £495, while Growth at £995 adds a campaign concept each month for brands that launch often.
A simple test: count how many new product images you posted in the last three months. If it is more than 15 a month, or you kept reusing the same five photos because making new ones was a hassle, a plan will feel like a relief.
How do I get an exact quote?
Send us a short message with your product, a few phone photos, where the images will be used and roughly how many you need. We reply in writing with ideas and a clear, free quote, so you know the full cost before anything is made. There is no call to book and no obligation to go ahead.
Questions we hear a lot
Is AI product photography cheaper than hiring a photographer?
For lifestyle and campaign images, usually yes, because you skip the studio, the model, the props and the shipping. For large batches of plain white-background packshots, a photographer charging £15 to £30 per image can work out cheaper.
Do I need to send you my product?
No. A few clear phone photos of your product from different angles are enough. Your stock stays with you, and nothing gets lost or damaged in the post.
Can AI get the details of my product wrong?
Yes, image models can change a label, a logo or a seam if nobody checks. We compare every image against your photos, looking closely at labels, reflections and hands, and fix anything that has drifted before you see it.
Can I use the images anywhere?
Yes. Every order includes full commercial use, so the images can go on your shop, marketplaces, ads and social media.
Why are your prices listed as “from”?
A single product on a simple surface takes less time than a busy scene with several products, hands or food. You get a clear written quote with the full price before we start, and revisions are unlimited within it.
How long does an order take?
Most single orders are ready within a few days. Monthly plans follow a schedule we agree together.
